Established over 20 years ago, the Australian Fishing Network (AFN) began operation with the release of our flagship publication, Freshwater Fishing Australia magazine.

Over the years, publisher Bill Classon launched a further two periodicals: Flyfisher magazine and Saltwater Sport Fishing now known as Sport Fishing Australia magazine. With the rapid growth of Kayak fishing, Sport Fishing Australia now incorporates Yak Fisher a dedicated kayaking fishing magazine.

In addition to publishing these three high quality publications, AFN has become well known for producing quality fishing books and DVDs, including a range of waterproof fishing maps and guide books that are gradually being expanded to cover all of Australia’s popular fishing areas.

Some of Australia's best fishing authors, such as Steve Starling, Frank Prokop, Steve Cooper, Geoff Wilson, Philip Weigall, Greg French, Rod McKenzie, Peter Morse, Rod Harrison, Alistair McGlashan, Bill Classon, Shane Mensforth, Gary Brown, Dick Eussen, Paul Worsteling, Lee Rayner and more, have had books published by AFN. These include the definitive Geoff Wilson's Complete Book of Fishing Knots and Rigs, which has sold over 200,000 copies.
